Melt Pizzeria CBD is located in Waymouth Street in the heart of the Adelaide CBD. Waymouth Street is becoming quite the street to eat, drink and be seen at. However Melt does face stiff competition from other eateries and bars nearby.
This place was ideal for Tempting Palates‘ casual get together. We were there at 6pm for the first sitting. There were quite a few people in there already. We were seated at the back of the room which no one seemed to mind.
Food wise we decided to go for ‘The Share Table’ (similar to a banquet) which was a selection of tapas, pizzas, salad and dessert.
The tapas dishes were beautifully presented and were absolutely divine.
Pan fried haloumi with pickled red onion:
Zucchini pumpkin and spring onion fritters with paprika yoghurt:
Potato and onion tortilla:
Hummus with ground lamb:
Green beans with chilli, garlic and anchovies:
The gourmet style pizzas (read interesting toppings) are made with thin bases. We shared 3 pizzas. The Turk ( lamb, pine nuts, pomegranate, provolone, yoghurt, mint, sumac) and the following 2 –
Broccolini – spinach puree, broccoli, caramelised onion, anchovies, asiago, chilli:
Albondigas – Spanish meatballs, assiago, roasted cherry tomatoes, chilli, oregano, parsley:
I couldn’t fault any of the pizzas. My favourite was the broccolini pizza. Then came dessert …
The dessert pizza – Chocolate and pistachio pizza with frangelico cream –
You can never go wrong with a dessert pizza ;)
For all the food we had, ‘The Share Table’ was good value for money. It was the right amount of food. You definitely do not go home hungry.
The waiting staff were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was great.

When booking be mindful of the fact that Melt has 2 sittings for the evening session.
I have been here a few times and have not been disappointed. I will definitely go back. I want to try the white anchovies with egg gribiche.
